"Best Mexican food around. Always fantastic service and great food." Until today that is. The food was delicious as always but the service was horrible. This particular waitress isn't that great on a good day and today was a new low. She spoke to us at most three times. Other people in the restaurant felt bad for us, that was how bad the service was. People came in fifteen minutes after us and still left before us. Hands down the worst service I've had at Mango's.
My son and I came over to fish for the day and took a break for lunch. We go to El Rancho in Gaylord all the time because we love authentic Mexican cuisine. Mango's staff and food are worth more than 5 stars. If you are hungry when you arrive. You definitely won't be when you leave! They also gave us a community service discount because we work fire and EMS. It was a really nice experience.
We stopped for lunch while shopplng and had the lunch buffet. The menu is mostly Mexican food but burgers are available as well. Great service and food. What more could you ask for? It is located in a strip mall with a Spartan super market and other neat stores.
My son and I ate there and really enjoyed the food but it was the service that really shined. Our waitress catered to my seven year old sons picky taste to find him the perfect diner combination. Service alone get 5 stars.
Mango's is a wonderful addition to Alpena. The restaurant is fresh and clean and beautifully decorated, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. We have had a few Mexican restaurants in Alpena over the past several years, and Mango's surpasses each of them. Congratulations to Lucy and Arturo for bringing us a restaurant we love to return to.
