Power out at 8 pm, still not back on, 1130pm.

Last Friday we were awakened at 3:15 a m by a violent rain, wind and electrical storm. at 3:30 the power went out and we called Alpena Power. About a half hour later (around 4 a.m.) we heard the sound of chainsaws in our driveway--the Alpena Power crew clearing the fallen trees off the driveway to get to the downed power line. Turns out the violent wind had cracked the utility pole, which split and took down the power lines. The crew worked continuously from 4 a m until noon, at which point the power was back on. We fell very lucky to have such a competent electrical utility servicing us.
