Sept 2017 I was ejected out of a bulldozer. Head laceration, fractured zygomatic arch/frontal skull, orbital, sinus bones. CT scan showed no internal bleeding. ER doctor on call stitched me up 21+5 internal. The radiologist had misread the scan on quantity of fractures and followed up with a corrected report in which the doctor was notified while stitching me up. Four weeks later: able to work, still alive and no internal hemorrhage yet.

I had my baby here on 7-22. Right from the very start the care and bedside manner was horrible. I was scheduled for an induction on 7-21 at 8am. I got there and waited 2 hrs for a room then another 9 hrs for them to actually start the induction bc they were understaffed and hit with several emergency csections. Dr. Hill delivered my baby who was perfect n healthy. I was discharged the next day. Went in to see Dr Leah conboy on the 25th for newborn appt n was readmitted due to high jaundice levels. While undergoing intensive triple phototherapy my baby was not given fluids and became dehydrated which was never addressed n was mostly so lethargic she was limp and almost lifeless. From there she developed pustules on her elbow resembling staph infection and I had to DEMAND it be tested. Twice. We were discharged that day even tho my baby's bilirubin had risen back up twice, to return the following morning for bilirubin retests. Her levels had risen again back up to 15.6 from 14.8 the previous day but we were sent home anyway. I received a call a few minutes later that the pustules came back as staph orius (mssa) and they had to transport my daughter immediately to a bigger hospital bc they lacked the equipment and pediatric unit to care for her at that point. (We spent the few days previous back on maternity for her phototherapy). I chose Hurley hospital in Flint bc I'm familiar with the hospital and trust the care she would be given there. It took them 5 hrs to finally send us out via ambulance on a 4 hr trip. When we got to Hurley she was still so jaundiced the attending Dr could not believe they discharged her in the first place! She was immediately put back under phototherapy. Alpena hospital is a joke. Dr conboy and Dr Amin's poor calls and bad judgement could've cost my baby long term health deficits if not her life! I will never return to that hospital and am contacting a lawyer!

I had 15% 3rd degree burns and was discharged. The next day my husband had to drive me 5 hours to U of M and was immediately put in the burn ICU unit. They said they couldn't believe they didn't airlift me to a burn center.

Why is medical so horrible. When somebody comes in with their heart in pain and they take others in front of them. Medical has become a joke.

I would rather bleed to death on the side walk out front of the hospital than ever go inside for treatment again. I was experiencing sharp abdominal pain on the right side. I was 300 miles from home and it was a Saturday night. So I went to the ER. They made me wait hours curled up in horrible pain before they brought me 2 Norco. When I asked if they could give me something to help immediately. The nurse said "Nope" and that was it. I had an ultrasound and the doctor said everything was fine but I was still in pain. 2 hours later I am waiting for a CT scam and cannot stand the pain anymore so I try to leave. A nurse then comes in with an IV medication and says "this is all you are going to get". Turns out they have a policy that if you have chronic pain issues, which I do have ovarian cysts, That they won't treat the pain. They should have told me that from the start. Then the nurse looks at my ultrasound and says "looks like a ruptured cyst". Hmmm doctor said it looked fine. I had the CT scan just in case. Another hour goes by and I am discharged without seeing another doctor. Horrible night. Drive as far as you can to the next hospital.
